Early Music Education - Discovering Music and Exploring Music​

Our early childhood music programs are some of the most popular here at the Academy! The classes run in eight week sessions throughout the school year, so if you miss out on the current class dates get in touch with us to get on the waitlist for the next session dates.

Discovering Music is for children ages 12 to 35 months and their parents to attend together. Our tiniest students will develop their musical literacy through singing, dancing, moving, and playing with a variety of instruments, all while practicing important classroom skills including taking turns and impulse control.  This class can be taken multiple times, and students are welcome to move to Exploring Music once they are 3 years old and ready to participate un-parented.

Exploring Music encourages children ages 3-5 to explore music in a safe environment through song, movement, and musical instruments! This class is the perfect positive introduction to music, and can be followed up with 1-on-1 lessons in a specific instrument; students are also welcome to take Exploring Music more than once if they are too young to begin 1-on-1 lessons.

*Both of these programs are intended for students who have not yet taken 1-on-1 music lessons; we ask that students are accompanied by one or two caregivers for Discovering music. Exploring Music participants must be potty-trained, and comfortable without their parents for the 30-minute class.*

Curriculum Includes:

• Movement/Dance

• Singing 

• Musical games 

• Exposure to various styles of music 

• Gain an early understanding of musical concepts

• Introduction to several instruments

Cost: $170 per student; eight sessions, 30 minutes per session

​

Session Dates: Spring sessions begin on April 1st for Exploring Music and April 15th for Discovering Music

Saturdays 10:30am - 11:00am (Exploring Music, April 1st start date)
